Am Law 200 firm Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell & Berkowitz has named the first new managing shareholder in six years for its largest office, as it works to grow its head count in several practices while competing with heavy law firm competition in the Southeast.

J. Allen Roberts, a corporate governance and M&A lawyer, will lead its Nashville office, which includes more than 100 lawyers in Tennessee’s rapidly growing state capital. He takes over the role from Brigid Carpenter, who served as the Nashville managing shareholder since 2017.
