The Georgia Republican Party paid almost $209,000 to three law firms last month, as it appears to continue to support the defense of some defendants in a racketeering case linked to former President Donald Trump.

The party paid legal fees totaling $208,890 in August to the firms, with most of it—$200,000—going to Smith, Gambrell & Russell in Atlanta, according to a disclosure filed with the Federal Election Commission Wednesday.
