Just how intelligent is artificial intelligence (AI)? That's a question that is already being asked, and will continue to be asked, for years to come. What we've already seen is that just like human beings, AI can have bias.

When that bias rises to the level of discriminatory activity, agencies like the Equal Opportunity Employment Commission (EEOC) get involved, and employers may be liable — even if the latter didn't realize that its AI was making illegal decisions.
