Contractual Disputes
Holland & Knight filed a breach-of-contract lawsuit against global liner shipping company Hapag-Lloyd (America) LLC on Nov. 14 in Georgia Northern District Court. The complaint, brought on behalf of Genuine Energy Inc., a U.S. agricultural products exporter, contends that Hapag-Lloyd failed to deliver 26 containers of non-GMO food grade soybeans to Qingdao, China, in accordance with an executed maritime contract of carriage agreement. Counsel have not yet appeared for the defendant. The case is 1:23-cv-05239, Genuine Energy, Inc. v. Hapag-lloyd (America), LLC.
