Mitchell and Susan Shook of Salter Shook, a husband-wife trial team out of Vidalia in south Georgia, secured a $1.3M personal injury verdict out of Lanier County. The number is a far cry from the $4,800 Mitch Shook said the defense told the jury the case was worth in closing or the $15,000 the insurer offered to settle for before trial.

A seven-figure verdict is significant in the highly conservative jurisdiction, but Mitchell Shook said the days of stereotypically stingy jury pools are numbered.
