The Supreme Court of Georgia has decided to remove Douglas County Probate Judge Christina Peterson from office after determining that the jurist violated eight provisions of the Code of Judicial Conduct.

With Peterson under investigation since shortly after taking office in 2021, the high court sanction puts an end to an extensive judicial misconduct probe by the Judicial Qualifications Commission of Georgia. Peterson’s removal from office comes less than a week after her intervention in an altercation between an unknown man and woman outside a Buckhead lounge culminated in her arrest on felony charges.
