Chief Judge A. Gregory Poole of Georgia’s Cobb County Judicial Circuit declared a judicial emergency on the morning of Aug. 7 due several “serious issues” that have persisted since a software conversion in late June.

A CMS conversion from the previous CRIS system to the CMS360 Icon electronic management system led to a stall in the ability of the clerk’s office to transfer new court filings, leaving court staff and litigants unable to retrieve information about cases, along with inaccurate scheduling and notices and inaccurate or incomplete documents.
