An elected prosecutor pleaded guilty last week to stealing public funds from Hall County, Georgia and the crime victims’ relief funds to pay for her own personal travel expenses among other expenditures, state Attorney General Chris Carr announced.

On Friday, Hall County Solicitor General Stephanie Woodard was required to resign from her position after pleading guilty to a misdemeanor offense of unprofessional conduct. Woodard was sentenced under Georgia’s First Offender Act, allowing her criminal record to be expunged if she completes the terms of her one year probation.
