Starting next year, just over 11% of Georgia's 159 magistrate courts will swear in new judges in January. Of the at least 18 new judges, four are currently licensed with the State Bar of Georgia to practice law.

As time ticks down for the soon-to-be jurists to ascend to the bench, the Council of Magistrate Court Judges of Georgia is outlining the training it's offering to ensure its newcomers don't end up on the Judicial Qualification Commission of Georgia's list of ethics violators.
