A Georgia law firm’s longtime office manager is facing forgery and theft charges after being accused of stealing what investigators believe ultimately will be “several million dollars” of funds held by the firm over several years.
Melissa Mirick, 50, of Cairo, Georgia, was arrested by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) Dec. 9 on charges related to a report of misappropriation of funds from South Georgia Law Associates in Thomasville, Georgia.
