WILKES-BARRE, Pa. AP – A prominent northeastern Pennsylvania lawyer and school district solicitor faces state and federal investigations into claims that he ran a Ponzi scheme that defrauded clients of millions of dollars, two newspapers reported.
Anthony Lupas Jr. was turned in by his own son, Luzerne County Judge David W. Lupas, who said in a statement Monday that after his father was seriously injured in a fall he “came to learn of circumstances . which I believe warranted an investigation.” The judge said he reported the matter to authorities.
