A federal appeals court judge hinted at oral arguments that he thought the extracurricular activities of former federal Judge Jack Camp only rarely, if ever, should be cause to undo Camp’s rulings.

The remarks by Judge J.L. Edmondson came Friday at arguments before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit in a case about a now-shuttered Spalding County strip club, Curves. In 2010, a little more than two months before he was arrested on federal drug and gun charges, Camp rejected Curves’ claim that county ordinances that prevented it from offering erotic dancing and alcohol together violated the First Amendment.
