A man who claims his former lawyers cheated him out of more than $1 million in unearned attorney fees in the wake of a collapsed real estate deal is suing for the return of the money, plus more than $200,000 in fees that he acknowledges are legitimate but argues that the attorneys forfeited through their “wrongful and fraudulent conduct.”

The suit accuses Michael A. Prieto of Perrotta Cahn and Prieto and Jeffrey H. Schneider of Weissman, Nowack, Curry & Wilco of “looting” nearly all of the proceeds their client, Edward H. Losey, garnered when he was paid $2 million of what was to be a total $4.25 million for the property.
