A lawyer discipline proceeding pending before the state Supreme Court has drawn the ire of those-including a former state Supreme Court chief justice and former Fulton County judge-who say the State Bar is letting a lawyer off too easily.

The Atlanta lawyer facing discipline is John F. Woodham, who in 2008 single-handedly convinced the state high court that the mechanism for funding Atlanta’s Belt Line project was unconstitutional.
