With just a month before Georgia’s Legislature reconvenes, Attorney General Sam Olens is pressing ahead with a comprehensive revision of open government laws.

House Bill 397 would increase penalties for government officials found in violation of open government laws, consolidate and clarify exemptions, include electronic communications in the definition of a public meeting and require governing bodies to keep minutes of executive sessions for judicial review in case of alleged violations.
