A. Summey Orr III will become the new managing partner at commercial real estate firm Hartman Simons & Wood on Oct. 1. He takes over from one of the firm’s founders, Robert D. Simons, who has led Hartman Simons since it launched almost a decade ago with 35 lawyers from the disbanding Kritzer & Levick.

Simons, 50, has steered the firm through rough waters during the last few years of recession, which hit the real estate market particularly hard.
