In a strongly worded order, the judge overseeing litigation between the Metro Atlanta Task Force for the Homeless and its long-unpaid landlords has issued a dispossessory order allowing the owners of the downtown building at Peachtree and Pine streets to evict the occupants of the sprawling homeless shelter by the end of next week.

In his Monday order, Fulton County Superior Court Judge Craig L. Schwall noted that the Task Force hasn’t paid any rent since the middle of last year, adding that a recently concluded mediation effort had failed to resolve the dispute.
