Paul P. Mattingly, the humble and self-effacing leader of Seyfarth Shaw’s local office, won’t take credit for the firm’s growth in Atlanta. When Mattingly became managing partner two years ago, Seyfarth had 36 lawyers here. Now the firm has about 50 attorneys in Atlanta.
Seyfarth has a total of nearly 500 lawyers in eight other U.S. offices and Brussels, Belgium. Colleagues and friends say modesty is Mattingly’s style, and they attribute his accomplishments as a leader to an easygoing nature and collaborative approach to management.
