After the death last week of U.S. District Senior Judge G. Ernest Tidwell, his son, Atlanta attorney Thomas G. Tidwell, recalled one of the first things he ever learned from his father: “People were the same regardless of race. … That was a pretty big thing back then.”
“I always loved that about him,” said Tidwell. The second thing his father taught him, he recalled, was, “It really doesn’t matter how much money you make as long as you love your job. And he certainly loved his job.”
