While state judicial salaries have risen less than 1 percent nationwide since 2009, the pay for Georgia’s top level judges still ranks near the top of a list released this week by the National Center for State Courts.

The salaries for Georgia’s appellate court judges placed eighth in the survey, with state Supreme Court justices’ pay taking 11th place. The survey shows Georgia pays appellate judges $166,186, which is greater than the national median of $140,732; and $167,210 annually to Supreme Court justices, which is greater than the national median of $146,917.
