At the end of an hour-long status conference Tuesday afternoon, a DeKalb County prosecutor picked up a tan envelope, held it over his head like a waiter with a tray of drinks and carried it to the judge.
That simple action by Deputy Chief Assistant District Attorney John S. Melvin signaled the end-for now-of one skirmish between prosecutors and lawyers at King & Spalding, who have crossed paths because they are working on related civil and criminal suits involving the DeKalb County School District and former school officials.
