Summer associate programs have not gone the way of the dodo. That’s the good news for second-year law students. But firms are staying cautious about hiring.

After paring the size of their Atlanta summer programs in 2009 and 2010, 10 of the 16 firms responding to the Daily Report’s annual summer associate survey have added an intern or two this summer. Five others have pared an intern or two, and Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton is hosting the same number as last year.
