Following a year in which four judges resigned after being accused of sexual misconduct, the Georgia Council of Superior Court Judges’ conference in Athens Friday included a two-hour seminar on how to avoid a similar fate. Following the session, the packed room gave the presenters from Ford & Harrison long applause, but there was not a single question.

Several judges said they thought the seminar was appropriate considering the events of the past year. “We’ve having a sexual harassment seminar because we’ve had so many judges resign over it, one of whom I replaced,” said Griffin Superior Court Judge Mack Crawford, whose circuit lost two judges last year amid sexual misconduct charges. “It seems like a good idea-maybe a little late.”
