The American Bar Association committee that rates judicial nominees for the White House is vetting an attorney in the federal public defender’s office in Atlanta for a seat on the federal court in Georgia’s Northern District, according to two Atlanta attorneys who have received letters from an ABA panel member.

Virginia Natasha Perdew-Silas is being considered for one of the four open judgeships on the court, said Atlanta attorney Emmet J. Bondurant, who received a letter and a follow-up telephone call about Perdew-Silas from an ABA representative in Florida.
