Adrienne Hunter-Strothers had a distraction in the midst of her campaign for the state Court of Appeals. But it’s not the first time the Atlanta lawyer has faced some adversity taking on a major endeavor.

Shortly before she was to set off for Harvard Law School, Hunter-Strothers was hit by a car while crossing an Atlanta street. She says the accident put her in the hospital for several weeks, including four days in a coma.
