Kent B. Alexander has resigned from a position as general counsel and executive vice president of Allscripts, a medical software company based in Chicago, just two months after resigning as Emory University’s general counsel and senior vice president to take the job. Alexander said his last day at Allscripts was Friday.

On Monday, Emory announced that it has named Stephen D. Sencer to fill Alexander’s old job. Sencer had been Emory’s deputy general counsel and the university made him its interim general counsel after Alexander left for Allscripts.
