Leron E. Rogers of Hewitt & Rogers was good enough in high school baseball to catch the attention of the Atlanta Braves. Rogers was both an infield and outfield threat, who hailed from Milwaukee, the city the Braves moved from in the mid-1960s. The team picked him in the 50th round of the 1989 draft.

But Rogers didn’t sign. He went for his education instead, graduating from Florida State University College of Law.
