After challenges from not one, but two, opponents, David E. Nahmias can rest easy knowing that he is able to serve on the Georgia Supreme Court for at least another six years.

Nahmias, a 46-year-old former federal prosecutor appointed to the court last year by Gov. Sonny Perdue, handily defeated Lawrenceville divorce lawyer Tamela L. Adkins in a runoff Tuesday. With 99 percent of precincts reporting, the secretary of state’s office reported that Nahmias had 67 percent of the vote, while Adkins had 33 percent.
