Her fellow fitness camp buddies call her “Grandma,” but not because she’s old or in any way infirm. Dawn R. Smith, 47, who for five years was deputy director of the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation and last month returned to private practice, can run and work out with the best of them since joining her in-town fitness group known as Fitwit, which also runs a foundation to boost the physicality of inner city youth.
“I started four years ago when I had a 9- and a 5-year-old and really no way to fit exercise into my life as a mom and full-time lawyer,” she said.
