Gov. Sonny Perdue has named former U.S. Attorney F. Maxwell Wood to head the office that handles administrative hearings for state agencies.

Perdue’s office on Friday announced Wood’s appointment to be chief judge of the Office of State Administrative Hearings. Wood, who unsuccessfully sought the Republican nomination for state attorney general earlier this year, said Monday morning he was on his way to be sworn in.
