Whoever wins today’s runoff for the Republican nomination for attorney general will get the support of the loser in the general election, but those pledges from Samuel S. Olens and Preston W. Smith were about the only positive moments in their final debate Sunday night.
A nasty tone permeated the event, sponsored by the Atlanta Press Club and aired on Georgia Public Broadcasting, which consisted of the candidates arguing over staples of this year’s campaign, such as illegal immigration and the death penalty.
