SAVANNAH, Ga. AP – The lead detective insisted in federal court Thursday he got the right man when his investigation sent Troy Anthony Davis to Georgia’s death row nearly 21 years ago for the slaying of a Savannah police officer.
Lt. Gregory Ramsey testified in U.S. District Court on the second day of a rare hearing ordered by the U.S. Supreme Court to give Davis, 41, a chance to prove his innocence in the 1989 shooting death of officer Mark MacPhail.
