Gov. Sonny Perdue’s Judicial Nominating Commission on Wednesday released the names of 31 Georgia lawyers in line to be considered for two vacancies on the state Court of Appeals.

The commission will vet would-be successors to Judge G. Alan Blackburn, who is retiring from the court, and Judge Debra H. Bernes, who died last month after a battle with cancer.
