A House of Representatives committee this week approved a budget that would cut spending by millions of dollars throughout the state judicial branch. The spending cuts would entail eliminating jobs, forgoing salary raises and shutting down courts’ committees.
Separately, the Georgia Senate on Wednesday approved a measure that would raise the base fee for civil filings in superior and state courts by $125 per filing.
