It’s been nearly 11 years since federal agents shut down a massive cocaine smuggling ring operating throughout the Southeast and the Caribbean, sending seven co-conspirators to federal prison, where some remain today.

But some of them are out, and one is continuing a legal fight he started from his prison cell to pry at least $50,000, plus interest, from his one-time attorney, criminal defense lawyer Tony Axam.
