TUSCALOOSA, Ala. AP – Two longtime Alabama Democrats received prison sentences of at least four years Friday for bribing ousted Birmingham Mayor Larry Langford.

U.S. District Judge Scott Coogler ordered a sentence of four years and four months for Bill Blount, a Montgomery investment banker and former chairman of the Alabama Democratic Party. The judge gave a four-year sentence to Al LaPierre, a former executive director of the party and former lobbyist from Birmingham.
