The Judicial Qualifications Commission, the body that investigates allegations of wrongdoing by Georgia judges, holds a hearing today to consider charges against Twiggs County Probate Judge Kenneth E. Fowler. The judge is charged with, among other things, shortchanging the rights of criminal defendants, collecting unauthorized fees and using inappropriate language in court.

The JQC can recommend to the state Supreme Court a judge’s retirement, censure, suspension or removal from office.
