The author of a bill that would let Gov. Sonny Perdue name five new judges to the state’s appellate courts this summer said that he is not sure he wants that part of the bill to succeed.
But lawmakers and lobbyists are focused on another part of the measure, Senate Bill 429, that would raise fees charged to litigants who file civil actions in the state’s trial courts by $100.
