The founder and CEO of a once well-connected company that provided compliance and technical services for international businesses was eligible to leave the Fulton County Jail on Wednesday after spending 15 days there for contempt of court rather than divulge information about his finances sought in pursuit of a judgment of about $2.6 million from him and his company.

Fulton County Superior Court Chief Judge Doris L. Downs last month ordered Brian R. Smith, 57, held for 15 days or until he complied with a discovery order seeking computer records and other documents disclosing any assets held by himself and his company, Simcom International Inc. The company is described on its Web site as a provider of “international regulatory compliance system integration for multinational corporations,” and lists locations in Atlanta and China.
