The local legal community has rallied to support Haitian relief efforts.

Sutherland partner Peter J. Anderson left for Haiti on Monday with a team of doctors. Anderson spends several weeks a year volunteering in Haiti as a member of ServeHAITI, a faith-based nonprofit that provides medical care and treatment to people in Grand Bois, Haiti, 52 miles northeast of Port-au-Prince. “We have received a significant amount of medicine and supplies that are needed immediately at the medical facility to provide emergency care,” said Anderson, the group’s treasurer and a board member, in a statement. The volunteers will fly to the Dominican Republic and cross the border to Haiti from there.
