The 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals on Thursday denied a motion by Alabama and Florida to dismiss Georgia’s appeal of a federal judge’s ruling that Georgia was illegally using water from Lake Lanier, according to attorneys representing Georgia.

McKenna Long & Aldridge partners Bruce P. Brown and R. Todd Silliman, counsel to Georgia, said they had not obtained a copy of the court’s order as of Thursday morning.
