Trademark lawyer Jonathan D. Goins joined intellectual property boutique Thorpe & Tyde as a partner Nov. 1. He’d previously been an associate at Kilpatrick Stockton.

Goins, who is African-American, said he was attracted by the chance to work for a minority-owned firm in light of “the somewhat stagnant diversity numbers in large law firms” in the current economy.
