DeKalb County State Court Judge Wayne M. Purdom’s colleagues were not surprised he received an award last month for his work writing and editing handbooks and bench books used by judges around the state.

“Wayne is known for sometimes being preoccupied with things,” said DeKalb Superior Court Judge Clarence F. Seeliger. “He’s been seen walking into an elevator while reading a book, then leaving the elevator, still reading, without having said hello to anyone.”
