Indianapolis-based Barnes & Thornburg has hired four attorneys for its new Atlanta office. David A. Flanigan Jr. joined the firm as a partner from Miller & Martin, and Scott D. Smith joined as of counsel from Soporex, a Dallas health care company where he was general counsel, on Oct. 1. Smith was previously a partner at Powell Goldstein.
Heather S. Spires, a business lawyer, joined the firm as of counsel in mid-September from Bryan Cave-Powell Goldstein and Nigamnarayan “Nigam” Acharya, a patent attorney, joined as of counsel from Smith, Gambrell & Russell on Sept. 1. Acharya also worked at Powell Goldstein.
