My most gratifying pro bono experiences have come from a project that is likewise favored by many other lawyers and paralegals at my firm: the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation’s Grandparent Adoption Program.

The experience is positive for everybody. The children are always excited, and their faces light up when the adoptions are made final. The adopting grandparents always are pumped up to assume awesome responsibility. And judges appear to enjoy these hearings because they promise a positive outcome.
