Tough times show up a little differently in the world of corporate legal departments than in the rest of the economy. While corporations are laying off employees in many areas, their legal departments are growing, according to Altman Weil Inc.’s just released 2008 Chief Legal Officer Survey.
It’s all about cost cutting. Many GCs report taking more work in-house so they do not have to use higher priced outside legal services.
