Construction lawyer Ira Genberg has left Smith, Gambrell & Russell for Troutman Sanders, where he started Tuesday as a partner.

Troutman has been expanding its construction law and litigation practice, and Genberg said the chance to build off his new firm’s established energy and real estate practices appealed to him. “There is a tremendous amount of energy construction right now. It’s the biggest thing in construction law,” said Genberg.
