Judge Thelma Wyatt Cummings-Moore did not qualify to run for another term Friday, capping an 18-year career on the Fulton County Superior Court and opening the floodgates for possible successors.

Eight area lawyers filed the necessary paperwork and paid the $3,502.49 fee to run for the rare open seat election.
