JACKSON, Miss. AP – A hearing is scheduled for Tuesday in the dispute over $26.5 million in legal fees that led to bribery charges against some of the most powerful plaintiffs attorneys in Mississippi.

The lawsuit was filed in 2007 when the Jones, Funderburg, Sessums, Peterson & Lee law firm claimed it was shortchanged after working with tort attorney Richard “Dickie” Scruggs and others. The Jones firm sued for a bigger share of the legal fees from a settlement of Hurricane Katrina insurance cases.
