A new dispute has erupted in the often-uneasy relationship between the city of College Park and its large urban neighbor to the north, and once again the tension is linked to the mighty financial engine that benefits both of them: Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.

In a suit filed last week, College Park accuses the city of Atlanta of a “bad faith” scheme to wipe out a chunk of the smaller city’s population and strip it of a sizeable amount of tax revenue under the guise of controlling airport noise at an aging apartment complex near Camp Creek Parkway.
